    Thick-It Original Instant Food Thickener is ideal for thickening liquids and foods. For people with swallowing problems, Thick-It will thicken hot or cold, thin or thick liquids and pureed foods to any desired consistency quickly, easily and controllably. Simply add the desired amount of Thick-It while stirring briskly and wait 30-60 seconds for most foods/fluids to thicken. Depending on the amount of Thick-It powder you use, you can achieve nectar-like, honey-like or pudding-like consistencies. You can thicken fruit juices, carbonated beverages, milk, tea, coffee, lemonade, broth, pureed vegetables, pureed meats and more.

    What is the difference between Thick-It & Thick-It 2?

    Thick-It 2 is concentrated, so you use approximately 50% less to achieve the same consistencies as with Original Thick-It.  For example, for NECTAR consistency in 4 ounces of liquid, use 2 tablespoons of Original Thick-It and only 1 tablespoon of Thick-It 2.

      While I didn't order the container of product shown, I ordered the individual packets. This item is also a an essential part of the daily care associated with the patient (diagnosed with Dysphagia) that I provide care too, on a daily basis. The food thickening agent is used for both beverages as well as soups that require a thicker consistency, before being administered to the patient, orally.

      This thickening agent worked just as advertised. Granular and not too messy. Was afraid it would continue to thicken as the liquid sat (Mother takes a long time to drink) but it didn't. Will order again.
