      In the past when I purchased Biofreeze its main ingredient was lidocane. The main ingredient in this style is menthol. I feel the lidocane was a better pain reliever than menthol. Other than that, this works well I just don't care for the way menthol works on pain and its smell is very overwhelming.

      I have been a loyal Biofreeze user for the last 8 years. As a Nurse, I find it works very well on muscular pain in the shoulders, lower back, and neck. I have tried so many other products that did NOT work. HINT: Do NOT use any "unscented" topical analgesic because you won't smell it on your hands and accidentally rub your eyes or swipe your lips, a painful reminder. You will smell the "scented" type products when they get close to your nose. I learned this the hard way!!

      I am 67 and I won't leave home without my Biofreeze colorless and odorless roll on!! I keep one in every room of the house so that wherever I am I can easily grab it. I give them as Christmas or birthdays gifts, or I just give one to someone I know needs it but they have never tried it.

      Good stuff. My physical therapist uses biofreeze and recommended it for at home use. Really helps relieve aches and pains. Scent does not linger very long, so it's okay to go out with it on, or use it before bed because it will not make bedding smell.
